Women of hilly region are the backbone of the economy of the state: Dehradun. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in a program Azadi Ke Baad Mahilaon Ki Dasha Evam Disha’ organized by Uttarakhand State Commission for Women at CM residence on Thursday. He said that women played an important role in the formation of the state. Women of hilly region are the backbone of the economy of the state. The CM said that 10 months before, sex ratio below the age of 6 years was critically low in Pauri, Pithoragarh and Almora districts. A survey was carried out again to confirm the facts in this regard. DMs related to those districts had been directed to pay special attention in this regard. Now there has been an improvement in sex ratio in these districts.
The CM said that state government will work to empower women self groups. All Nyay Panchayat of the state will be developed as growth center. He said that two women bank had been started in the state. He added that the women self help groups were being included in LED bulb distribution.
The CM said that whole women community should be united on the issue of triple talaq. This law will bring a huge change in the society. This law will be affected whole society. This law will help the 18 percent muslim women of the country to give their contribution in the development of India.
The CM said that there are 31 lacs orphan children in the country. Government will consider on giving reservation to the orphan children in government services.
During the program Mata Shri Mangla, Smt Kalpana Chauhan, Ms Urvashi Rautela, Ms Anukriti Gusain and Smt Harshwanti Bisht have been felicitated by the Chief Minister for their excellent work in their respective fields.
