Open a film institute in Kotdwar to promote the culture of Uttarakhand
Dehradun Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat met the filmmaker Shri Shiv Narayan Singh at CM House on Saturday. During the meeting, filmmaker requested CM to open a film institute in Kotdwar to promote the culture of Uttarakhand through the development of films . Filmmaker also requested the Chief Minister for permission from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He said that due to the formation of a film institute in the state there is immense potential for development of films in Uttarakhand. This will boost tourism in the state and revenue will also increase. Shri Shivanarayan also requested for the permission to show the Raju Bajrangi, a self-made social children film to the children in the schools of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that the environment of Uttarakhand is always favorable for the shooting of films . He said that for the promotion of films in Uttarakhand, no charges are now being taken for shooting films. He said that there is no shortage of talent in Uttarakhand. Opening of Film Institute will promote talent and the possibility of shooting of Bollywood movies will also increase. He said that FTII will get permission for film institute in Uttarakhand. For this, he asked Secretary / Director General Information and Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey to take necessary action. The Chief Minister agreed on the request to show the children film ‘Raju Bajrangi’ in schools.
