Dehrdaun. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat met NTPC Chairman Shri Gurdeep Singh at the CM House on Saturday. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra assured that State Government would give full support to all the projects in Uttarakhand run by NTPC. The Chief Minister said that Lohari Nagpala project in Uttarakashi, Lata Tapovan project in Chamoli and Khasiabarh project in Pithoragarh should be run through Joint Venture of NTPC and UJVNL. It should be ensured that the projects start on time and completed in the stipulated period. Chief Minister added that increased energy production in the state would benefit the country and the state along with creating employment opportunities for the people. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra apprised that issues have been discussed with Union Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi regarding ongoing Hydro projects and closed projects in Uttarakhand for any reason The central government’s positive support is being received on these projects.
NTPC Chairman Mr. Gurdeep Singh discussed the use of electric vehicles in the city with the Chief Minister. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that the use of electric vehicles as an experiment in the initial phase can be started from secretariat’s vehicles. The use of electric vehicles in the city can also be considered if the results are positive. He said that the use of electric vehicles would also be a good option to prevent l pollution. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra asked NTPC to cooperate in the beautification of Badrinath. NTPC Chairman Mr. Gurdeep Singh assured cooperation on the issue.
