Dehradun On the occasion of National Sports Day, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has congratulated the sportspersons of the state and the youth. In his message issued on the occasion of the National Sports Day, Chief Minister, while paying tributes to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, said that sports have special significance in our lives. He said that players of the country and the world, on one platform, with sportsman spirit, display their talent and also work for increasing mutual harmony. Chief Minister further said that in order to enhance the mutual cooperation and harmony, sports play an important role. He said that with the State Cricket Association getting recognition, the youth here will get more opportunities for performing better in this field. Chief Minister said that the state government was committed for the development of the sports and providing all possible facilities to the players. He said that efforts to provide a better sports environment to the players by continuously developing sports facilities in the state in a planned manner are on. He said that the players of Uttarakhand have performed well in the national and international sports competitions and the players, who have won medals in these competitions as well as those who represent India, are being given prizes and proper incentives. He further said that by their performance, the women sportspersons have also shown by that they are no less than the men. Chief Minister said that on the occasion of National Sports Day, the budding sportspersons should take inspiration from the life Major Dhyan Chand and should take the pledge to do the best with the sportsman spirit.
