Chief Minister announced to give 11 lakh to Bal Vinita Ashram
CM Rawat lays foundation stone of new girls hostel at Bal Vinita Ashram
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat laid the foundation stone of new hostel building of girls at Swami Shardanand Bal Vinita Ashram at Tilak Road, here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the values of sacrifice, dedication and service are essential for human society. He said that great men like Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Swami Shardanand had contributed in the establishment of Bal Vinita Ashram. He said that children are the future of the country and in their bringing up, there should be atmosphere where they can grow naturally. The Chief Minister said that there should be an amalgamation of virtues of mind, strength and wisdom in the bringing up of children.
In the presence of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Rajpur MLA Khazan Dass, announced to give a sum of Rs. 11 lakh to Bal Vinita Ashram from his MLA fund. Bal Vinita Ashram started in 1924. Presently, there are arrangements for the stay of 50 children, out of which 20 are boys and 30 girls. There is a ‘Gaushala’ with 27 cows in the ashram. The ashram incurs an expenditure of Rs. Three lakh which is met by voluntary contributions. Suchit Narang, a national award winning singer presented a ‘bhajan’ on the occasion. The child inmates of the ashram welcomed the Chief Minister.
