Dehradun.Chief Minister Mr.Trivendra Singh Rawat visited the lake of Kankaria in Ahmadabad. He along with the Chief Secretary and Tourism Secretary conducted terrestrial inspections of the schemes and other activities related to tourism development in the lake premises. CM gave instructions to the officers to make an action plan to explore the possibilities of tourism development in the lakes of Uttarakhand like the lake of Kankaria,
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that Kankaria is the largest lake in Gujarat. Which extends up to 3 kilometers circumference. Kankaria Lake is very popular in Ahmedabad and is also a tourist attraction. At present, this lake has been established as an activity center for tourists, there are many facilities available. Here is the Kids Garden which is specially developed for children. There is also a boat club where tourists can also take a boat ride. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra also visited Kid city, established by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Kankaria Lake campus. He said that arrangements have also been made to develop career skills of the children here. It is a system of training for children, what they would like to become in the future, whether they want to adopt a career, and the knowledgeable people of the respective subjects will be able to help the children to choose their career and also solve their curiosity. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra also visited the Flower Show organized at the Sabarmati River Front. Gujarat along with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra participated in this flower show. The Chief Minister also visited Asia’s largest Reptile Park and took information about its maintenance etc.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that there are immense possibilities of tourism development in Uttarakhand. Uttrakhand is known for tourism, new initiatives needed to further promote tourism. He said that in order to attract tourists, the scheme of setting up rural and cultural village can prove to be effective, through which more information will be available to tourists in one place about the culture, civilization and specialties of Uttarakhand. .
Here, a toy train is also run by the name ‘Atal Express’, to show the tourist spots around the lake to tourists. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra also took the opportunity to ride this train on this occasion. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that such use in the state’s lakes etc. can be a center of tourist attraction as well as being educative for children.
In order to attract tourists and spread the culture, the Kankaria carnival is celebrated in the last week of December. Carnival consists of cultural, art and many social events. Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat also attended the carnival.
The Chief Minister said that in Uttarakhand, Tehri, Nainital, Nanak Sagar, Kalagarh, along with the Suryadhar lake project and Song Dam etc. can be developed on the lines with Kankaria Lake to promote the tourism and other activities. He asked to prepare detailed plan for this. The Chief Minister said that the natural beauty of Uttarakhand has been the center of tourism attraction. Along with the lakes, there is a need to introduce the other important religious places in front of the country and the world besides the delightful Bugyas, Oli, Munsyaari’s icy floor, Chardham. If effective initiatives are taken in this direction, with the formation of Uttarakhand tourism state, the state’s economy can also become a strong base. In this direction, 13 new tourist destinations are being set up in 13 districts of the state.
Chief Secretary Shri Utpal Kumar Singh, Tourism Secretary Shri Dilip Javalkar, Industrial Advisor to CM Shri KS Panwar, OSD Shri Abhay Rawat etc. were present on the occasion.
